Handling not that great.

Is bad cornering standard issue on 2007 G35 Sedan Journey?

I finally tried the G on some high speed cornering....holy crap.

Handles aweful! My 2000 Golf with a 1" drop and a rear sway bar can out handle my G.

Is there anything low budget than can help our Gs?

running fairly good Bridgestones....traction was not a problem.
When shopping for tires in our sizes, nothing is cheap.

the car was just loose or sloppy could not stay in one lane.

first off your golf weighs 2700 pounds as compared to 3500 pounds for your G. like herrschaft said good tires will make a difference. then maybe a drop and sways. but your G will never handle like ur golf.

Just glad I did not pay for a new one.

Forget about the drop (springs). If your tires are as good as you say then the next steps are aftermarket sway bars (adjusted to preference) and coilovers (adjusted to preference). These two items will make a very marginal difference.

The front sways on the non-S are pretty small if i recall correctly, u can significantly improve handling in corners by either buying hotchkis sway bars that will make a HUGE difference or just get the used OEM sports front sway and that helps a lot too. My sports stock suspension handles high speed cornering very well even at the few track sessions iv had in the past.

What tires do you have? Standard ones from Infiniti? List the brand and rating.. ie. 101w, 97v, etc. It can be found on the tire after the p225 55r17 or p225 50r18 if u have the sport trim.

Tires make a huge difference. I just replaced my tires and that annoying vibration and road noise disappeared, and the handling improved too.

I switched recently from the original Bridgestones RE050's "2005" (YES ORIGINAL) 225/40/19 & 245/40/19 to Hankook Ventus v12 245/35/19 & 255/35/19, and I definitely notice a difference. My current setup is much quicker to turn (if that makes sense). Also, my Slip hasn't come on once, even with my new FI setup, unlike my 7 year old bridgestones which slipped with my NA setup on hard 1st/2nd gear sprints.

Handling shouldn't be that bad. Make sure your alignment is good and if you have a lot of miles, and if the ride is unsettled, your shocks/struts may be worn.

There is a reason why the "Sports" trim level exists

maybe keep an eye on the wheel trade forms and pick up a set of 18" or 19" rims with good tires, and then start looking at suspension mod

this is a luxury sports (i.e. sporty) sedan, its not a light weight pocket rocket. you have to give up something for the luxury items.

"Sports, luxury or (lower) price" ... you can only pick two of them ;-)

I'm curious as to how fast the OP was cornering this car in a turn. I rarely exceed 50mph on turns coming off ramps, and even with my old stock tires I never had issues....
