You can likely fix it, but do need to drop the front of the headliner.its pretty easy. There's a diy for it out there; I don't have the link, but it should be easily google-able.

First, you could try this: https://g35driver.com/forums/search....rchid=14639810

Then this: https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-diy...all-v36-s.html

Good luck.

I had this same exact issue a few weeks ago. The screws holding the motor assembly in place had backed their way out. I removed the dome light assembly and I was able to screw the screws back in. Works like a charm now.

Awesome. So did you have to go through all the steps of removing the headliner or is there an easier way? B/c if there is without breaking anything, I'm all for the easier way. Thanks.

Just remove the A pillars, visors, and door molding. Disconnect the map lights and sunroof switch. Pull down the front of the headliner to get access to the motor and 10mm nuts around the moonroof. Chances are the nuts have worked themselves loose. Re-tighten with Loc-Tite and you should be good.

thanks for all the help guys. so there was 1 screw that came completely out, and 2 others that were very close to falling out. i tightened everything back up. no the gear grabs the cables. there is still an issue, though. it will only go into the tilted position or halfway open position. i was able to "close" it by timing the transition from halfway open to tilt. in the transition it will actually close. that's when i hit the switch to reopen the roof and it pauses the roof in place. any info why it won't close all the way and stay closed? or why it won't open all the way?

I'm having issues with my moonroof not closing from the tilt position. I dropped the ceiling and tightened all the bolts with no luck. I took videos of the issue and pasted links below. Can someone let me know if the problem seems to be the motor? Thanks!

Video Num 1 (general overview): http://sdrv.ms/17e7BkU
Video Num 2 (possible issue?): http://sdrv.ms/17e7yFK
