Unhappy Dang Heated O2 Sensor

So my G finally came up with a service engine soon light

took it to auto zone and the code was for a heated O2 Sensor Bank 1 sensor 1
I believe this is correct because i ve been experiencing a pretty drastic drop in MPG

Course of action would be to take it in to the stealership and see how badly they want to give it to me

Anyone have any input on this? go to the dealership? do it myself? take it to the nissan dealership?

Thanks!

Your gonna troll me for this, but when I threw this code I threw seafoam cleaner in the fuel and it cleaned up after a full cycle. Code went away Gas mileage went positive. Your choice. Ultimately stealership can price it, indy shop should fix it thou much cheaper.

It just cleans the fuel track. Your not putting it in the crank case .

I had that check engine light for a while (same code). I just reset it to make the light go away, as i heard it can be triggered by my old battery. but it came back after few hundred miles. i reset it again...same thing. So I finally just got that 02 sensor replaced at a indy shop. I believe i paid between $350- $400 (parts and labor). It may be placebo, but performance seems to have improved- just feels more solid. idk. but i will have to get back on the mpg improvement. Dealer quoted me around $550 parts n labor.

Sounds about right dealer is at almost $600 while the firestone on base said $364. maybe i can convince them to come down or say its warranty work

I tried the warranty route. but even with close to 40k mi warranty ( I have 45k ), they didnt budge. It's an emission issue. maybe you'll have better luck. worth a shot.

recently replaced my #1 no way I was going to take it to the dealer for a O2 sensor, just get another sensor from Autozone/Advanced Auto ($115) and replace it yourself

its pretty easy to get to even though its in a tight place

dont you need that special socket or w/e to get the sensor out?

did autozone have it for rent? also did you get an OEM sensor?

Bosh OE type replacement

no dont "need" the special socket its still doable without it just hit it with some PB blaster a few times prior to trying to remove it with your wrenches
