Matic S instead of Matic D

Hello,
I recently gave my car to a local dealer for a 60k service. The transmission and diff and transfer case were drained and refill. But i saw that they used the Matic S for transmission and transfer case both.

Am i in trouble?? Weird thing is, there is no difference while driving. Am i too late to get the fluid out and fill with correct fluid.

Please help...

Its a 2008 Inifiniti Xs

For the record:
The Matic-D is NOT EVER replaceable by the Matic-S, THEY ARE FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT
The Matic-J is totally replaceable by the Matic-S, they are fundamentally similar, with the -S type superseding the -J type, but by reverse compatibility only.

If it were my car, I would go back and ask them to clarify whether they did indeed put Matic-S in both the tranny and the transfer case (it could be you're not reading the invoice correctly??). If they did use Matic-S in both, and are claiming they consider it safe for the X-fer case, then demand they specifically put it in writing (a letter) that they did exactly that and that they will take responsibility for any negative results from their deviation from factory's recommendations. They should either sign it gladly, or drain and refill the X-fer case with the specified Matic-D fluid.

^^^ Listen to this guy.

Nissan use to use Matic-J then replaced it with Matic-S. The Matic-J was for the old Nissan Jatco tranmissions, the newer RE5R05A in the G35 calls for Matic-S . They are essentially the exact same thing, just renamed. Some manufacturers even sell Matic-J/S fluid. They have all the same properties, but S supposedly has a couple additives.

Matic-D was developed specifically for the transfer case and is not compatible with J or S. They have very different viscosities, boiling points, ect.

Definitely go back to the dealer imminently and tell them you want it done properly.
