DoT Matrix replacement??

Recently picked up an 07 G35S which has a bad LCD in the gauge cluster. I've done some searching but cannot find anything on replacement of the LCD screen itself. I spoke to the Infinity dealership and was told the entire instrument panel needed to be replaced (at roughly $900??). Anyone here ever replace the LCD screen only? If so...is there a part #?

Thanks

The whole gauge cluster has to be replaced. You can probably find the part cheaper elsewhere.

Not sure if the installation requires the dealer, since it has to be specially programmed? I thought I heard that the mileage has to be programmed into the gauge cluster, or else it will display the incorrect mileage on your vehicle.

The new cluster will need to be programmed

When the dealer replaced mine, it had to be ordered from Japan and they had the car a day or so

The LCD is removable, Just not sold apart. Buy yourself a used one on ebay and replace it.

Thanks all. Guess I'll have to go the Ebay route...just wanted a new screen.

Anyone out there replace their gauges w/o reprogramming? Is it just the mileage that needs adjusting?

Sorry, I typed my reply on my iphone and didnt see that pic. Disregard my response, I was referring to the tac/speedo cluster needing replacement.

One more question. I found one cheap at a local scrap yard though it came from an auto trans (mine being a manual). I assume there is no difference on the LCD from a MT vs AT??? I'm only looking to swap out the screen...not the entire cluster. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks

Everyone and OP, read through this thread
http://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-seda...needles-2.html

Especially Page 2 where a guy was able to change the color of the center MID screen. Lots of good Info but doesn't look easy.

OP from all the pictures, looks like you may be able to just swap out the center damaged MID screen if you are careful
