VDC,Brake, and Slip lights coming on randomly
About a month and a half ago I ran my car off the road and messed the back of it up. Just the bumper and trunk. But just the other day I was driving and the car seemed to lag a little bit as i was driving to work. You could tell it sounded like it almost wanted to die by the way the it lagged. It had done this a few times, the last time it did it the VDC and SLIP lights came on, so I pulled over and just turned the car off and on and it was fine. A time before that I was going maybe 60 or 70 and all three lights flashed on so i restarted again, nothing after that. Also when it is in manual mode(slap shift) it will not shift down, only up. I took it back to the Collision place because of a rattle under the car, they said it is the catalytic converter. Would the catalytic converter be a reason for this or would it be a cpu problem? Anyone know at all?
VDC and slip is due to low brake fluid, which is due to worn out pads, either change pads or top up fluid. same problem I had, and resolved
Not shifting up/down in manual is usually due to shifter assembly, specifically the switch on the shifter assembly when putting in manual mode. this is a known issue, as infiniti did make a revised assembly, new part #, with improved switch. unfortunately, the part is not sold separate, so whole assembly must be purchased. it was a half hour diy, involves getting under the car to undo linkage, and undoing shifter assy trim to swap it. do a search, people have had this issue, me included, and a shifter swap fixes it. part was ~200bucks.
Lag could be a few things, but i highly doubt its the cat, highly doubt. do the obvious first, air filter, throttle body clean, that fixed my hesitation and rough/low idling.

How old is your battery? I've seen cars that start flashing lights and doing weird electrical things when the battery starts getting old. What is weird, it will still start the car just fine, but when the car is running, random electric things just turn on and off, flash, etc. It messes with the cpu somehow.
Just bought my '07 and those lights came on right as I was driving home. Needed brake fluid - lights went away. Just changed the front brakes this week though - they were pretty worn at 43k.
I think that must have been my problem. I took it in to shop for that and the other problem. He just topped it off and it hasn't done it since. And hey congrats on the G! You'll love it!

Is your check engine light on? I had this happen to me but I didn't run my car off or get hit. I was going like 70mph on the freeway and my car kind of lagged my check engine, VDC, slip lights came on. Did the same thing as you, pulled over turned off and on everything back to normal except my check engine light still on. I used my OBD scanner and turns out that I had a bad camshaft position sensor but I replaced both. And it's been a month and no check engine light.
I know in my G the VDC, Slip, AWD and ABS lights came on and have been on for a while. I had a shop do some tesst and they found that some codes were being thrown. All 3 codes are related to the front left wheel sensor being bad. The car has little traction currently and the wheels spin when there's a lot of torque applied, which is good fun at times. But I plan on getting it fixed this coming Tuesday so we will see.
