Angry 350GT 3rd Gear very rough in DS Manual Mode

So I have owned my 2007 Nissan Skyline 350GT for the past month 1/2. Well in normal D mode its smooth as butter, but when you switch it to sport mode (Paddle Shifters) i.e at a light, and give it some ***** 1st - 2nd is a little laggy, 2nd - 3rd feels like it is gonna break something, and 3rd - 4th/5th is nice and crisp. Also when cold transmission takes 2 seconds or so to shift to R/D and is rough. This is in 80* weather.

Car:

2007 Skyline 350GT with 45,000 miles

Any common issues? Sometimes it goes smooth into 3rd but only if i'm driving it easy

It's a common thing. My G does this as well, but it's not that annoying. If it's really severe check your transmission fluid.

Also some have reported that a grounding kit helps.

Yes I find 2nd and 3rd to be "tuggy" (for a factory trans) when I am on it. Not sure why and maybe its in my head but I genuinely feel that the transmission is more responsive after I did the kit. Worth a try for $15?

Even the G37 with the 7 spd can be a bit "tuggy" in DS. Not as much but still noticeable.

Thanks for the replys. Car just had a full service before I purchased it with all new fluids, have checked trans levels, they are perfect and fluid does not look burnt. Its worse if i'm going through 2nd hard and shift to 3rd as i'm letting off, it feels like the transmission is hitting the frame of the car, but have had it on the lift and it has solid urothane(sp) mounts.

Will try the grounding kit also

I would venture a guess that those stiff urethane mounts may have a lot to do with the severity of the shifting feel.
