2007 Journey sedan audio question

So I've been doing a lot of searching over the weekend and I'm getting some conflicting information. I've got what seems to be the standard sound system in my car (no NAV, no XM, no Bose) and I'd like to install an aftermarket system. Unfortunately, it seems as though the 2007 isn't upgradeable, even though the JDM kits I find say they are good up to the 2007 model year. Am I completely out of luck?

One potential source of misinformation can be attributed to the fact that there were two different generations of G35 in model year 2007. The coupes were still 1st gen (V35), while the sedans were 2nd gen (V36). Lots of bad info about compatibility with a model year 2007 sedan can be avoided by looking at a model year 2008 G35 instead, since the sedan was the only G35 made that year and the '07 and '08 sedans are virtually identical, while the coupe changed its model number to the G37 (a 2nd gen also) in 2008.

So I took your advice and searched around for an 08 G37 and came up with this from Metra. My only concern is will the HVAC and menu controls be compatible? $335 is a chunk of change for just the install kit and I want to make sure it will work.

That was not my advice.

"advice" was probably the wrong word. Regardless, when I search for 2007 G35, I get nothing that looks like my interior. But, when I search for 2008 G37, I at least get the trim that matches what's in my car. I'm basing this information off of the Metra catalog. I'd be happy to go down a different path if you have any suggestions.

Did you look for a 2008 G35?

EDIT: That link you gave shows this under the applications tab: "G35 Sedan (w/o nav w/ auto climate) 2007-2008 ", although it does not appear to show up when searching for the G35 directly. You may want to verify with their tech support: "... please call our Tech Support line at 1-800-253-TECH "

Yes I looked for 2008 G35 but didn't get any results until I switched to the G37. I also saw that note. I wasn't sure if there is anything on this forum you've seen that could show this has been used. The searching on this forum is a bit weird.

I do not know anything about that kit. You can try searching with google using "site:g35driver.com put_your_keywords_here"

I thought there were no head unit harnesses for 2nd gen G35/g37. This Metra kit clearly says differently. Will be looking into this mysel
