I finally took the plunge on my 2008 G35 Sport (black with gray interior) and pulled the deteriorating switch bezels. Used trim romval tools from Amazon (about $13) alternated between a citrus stripper and a non-toxic graffiti remover to get the rubberized coating off. Then I sanded with 100 / 320 / 600 grit sandpaper. I was originally going to repaint the parts but couldn't find a color that was close enough. I found that the underlying plastic was the right color for the gray interior on my vehicle. So instead of painting, I sprayed them with a clear satin from Rustoleum. Hit them with three to four coats sanding in between. See image below. Would love to find a source for the little mirror adjustment icon that appears below the joystick on the drivers side. I couldn't save it in this process (I just sanded away the small box in which it appears on the factory part. Anybody have a solution for that?
