On some vehicles the variable cam timing logic is reset as well but I think the G35 they are in separate parts of the memory (rev-up equipped only). Some DCT equipped vehicles there will be a "master calibration" for shift and clutch actuators that are dealership programmed and just the trim takes place at the TCM. Mercedes and Audi the variable lift, timing, fuel trim and turbo boost fuel trim are all tied to an ECU reset but for the most part vehicles from 1990-2010'ish all work the same for ECU stored trims.

No clue about the new systems on the KR20DDET because I haven't had a chance to work on one yet but hopefully SOON

I do have an ELM327 adapter but it's marketed as being specific for Fords and Mazdas. I've always wondered if it would work.

2) What is the official website for NDSII ? Google returns 'www dot nissandatascan dot com' as well as as 'home dot exetel dot com dot au'. The sites look very similar (I didn't look that closely yet).

The supported vehicles list only includes VQ35DE engines, no HR variants. Does anyone use NDSII with an HR engine ? Appears that one needs to use version "III" of the software with HR engines.
go to nissandatascan.com

Your ELM327 should work, it's a generic device, not tied to a certain car make.

There's not much difference between sub-$25 adapters. They work perfectly fine most of the time if you're just occasionally scanning and clearing codes.

I use mine often enough and for logging that it was worth spending the $60 dollars for an OBDLink LX Bluetooth. It's firmware upgradable, has faster scan rates, and actually has support vs a generic thing off eBay.

Here is a tip I found that should make performing any pedal dance easy. The ones I am familiar with all start with setting the ignition to the on position, waiting 3 seconds then flooring and releasing the gas pedal 5 times within 5 seconds and then waiting a certain number of seconds before the next step. The secret is to perform the step after flooring 5 times WHEN THE TIMER HITS THE 15 SECOND mark. I reset my idle after cleaning my throttle bodies doing it this way and it worked like a charm.
