Squeaks from suspension
Squeaks from suspension
Hi guys, I recently bought a 2008 Infiniti G35x with 141,000 KMs on it. The car appears to be running well except for the fact that there are pretty noticeable squeaks and creaks coming from the suspension. This seems to happen when I break and accelerate from stops. I also hear this when the going uphill. I cant hear the noise once the car starts rolling at around 40KPH.
I have read the bushings can cause this problem, I brought this up to the mechanic who said the control arm and nus looks fine and bushings. Just wondering if anyone else had a similar issue and what the resolution was.
Another thing I am looking for is a good Infiniti mechanic in and around Toronto (GTA). If someone has recommendations, I would appreciate that.

That's about the mileage where many of the G35 suspensions components need to be replaced. 85k miles and just about every bushing is worn, ball joints, compression arms, wheel bearing will be going out soon, rear differential bushing is almost definitely shot, etc.
Time for a suspension refresh.

I'd check the anti roll bar bushings (there are 2) up front. My car would creak/squeak in hot weather, and that was the issue. They're cheap (under $10 online) and relatively easy to change. You may be able to test by spraying some lube on the bushings to see if that shuts it up for a little while. I'd start there and replace other components as needed... at only 85k miles, I'd guess most stuff is still fine.
At 85k you probably need new compression rods and should install Whiteline bushings while you're at it. Lubricating the sway bar bushings is good advice, even better just replace them all with Energy polyurethane bushings for a little handling boost
Thanks for the responses guys, I had my mechanic take a look into it again. It took a bit of time to find out what was causing the noise but it appeared to be a busted engine mount. I had it replaced and I have not been hearing the noise since then.
