Passenger Door Lock Issue
Passenger Door Lock Issue
Hello Everyone!
I'm new to the forum. Just picked up a 2008 G35S yesterday with 141k miles on it for my son. Overall it looks to be in great condition. Has the panel peeling issue that every car seemed to have. Found some solutions on here for that already, great ideas on this forum. One issue it has is the passenger power door lock doesn't work. It doesn't work with the key fob, the door switch on the door itself or the driver side door. I can't find schematics anywhere. I was wondering if any of you knew if there was a door solenoid that commonly fails before I dig into replacing the door actuator itself. When trying to lock or unlock it doesn't make a peep, so I'm thinking its a solenoid somewhere and not the actuator. I'm not familiar with Nissans at all, so any help would be appreciated.

This is a huge help thanks! I didn't think it was the actuator because I thought the switch on the passenger door wasn't opening any locks. I was mistaken though it does unlock/lock everything, but the passenger door lock. Pretty much confirmed it's the door actuator, yeahhhhhh. I do think my son has buyers remorse. Just bought this a few days ago to get out of his gas hog Toyota Tacoma. He didn't realize he had to use premium fuel for the G35 HAHAHAHA!!! Now he's questioning whether or not to keep it. Oh well.
Yeah you CAN run regular fuel, the knock sensor will pull timing if it detects a knock condition which is pretty common on all these engines.
You just aren't going to get full timing advance (thus POWAH) when you punch it wide open throttle.
I would have kept the Tacoma AND bought the G35
The Tacoma gets pretty much the exact same mileage as the G35.

Even my current Q70 runs fine on regular.
I'm on my third Infiniti since December 2005 and have never used premium except for one month tests
