Tricks to remove terribly rounded 12mm nut on intake manifold?
i tried nut extraction socket but the nut is so rounded that it does the same results a socket would(no results) i have pliers long but considering the tight and awkward space how do i proceed to unbolt this nut? do any g owners have any tips and tricks on what you guys used if you had this problem in the past?
Get a small pair of channel locks and use them, that isn't a bolt, it's a NUT threaded onto a stud that goes through the intake plenum down into the lower intake manifold. It will probably unscrew from the bottom and pull the entire stud out, that's fine, you can clamp it in a bench vice to get that nut off once it's out.
I keep a pair of the baby Knipex channel locks just for bolts like that, they're only like 4 inches long and can fit into really tight spaces.
