If you have sport mode in your g35x does that mean your car is a sports package?
I have a 07 g35x but not sure if the S at the end is real or not. When I bought the car it had 19s. And I have sport mode shift. All help will be appreciated. Thank you
The g35xS is really just an appearance package, front bumper is the sport bumper, etc. The main change is the sport has paddle shifters installed, but all models were prewired for paddle shifters so many people (like myself) added them to the car. Shifting to DS "drive sport" mode was available on all. If you have the sport front bumper and paddle shifters there's a good chance the "S" is legit.
See that's the thing. The car comes with no paddle shifts. It is a 07 .. when I bought the car used. It did come with a front lip. And black 19s. Doesn't have Navi. It has heated seats. Check it out on YouTube njborig35
Those wheels are not stock right? Back then the 2wheel drive had the 6 speed manual with sport package, with staggered 245/50/18's in the rear, and 225/50/18's in front, When the XS package came out in 08, those wheels were NOT staggered, (on an X) they were all 225/55or50/18's There was also 4wheel steer back then for awhile also, but NOT for an AWD, IIRC, there were a few companies that offered lower front lips, and some of them looked quite good, I almost bought one but did not.

Damn, someone paid $37,850 for this G back in 2007 and i bought it for $1,200 in 2023..
Sport mode or not, it doesn't do much anyways on the 5AT garbage tranny.. My 07 Journey with Premium, Navigation, Technology and Performance wheel package in DS drives the same way at in D. The manual shifter works but not like it should; Forcing it to upshift, nope, it will upshift when it feels like. Downshift works better but it does whatever it wants.. I stopped using it as it's complete garbage and i would hate to have to paddle shifters, more nuisance than fun with this 5AT tranny.. To have sport feeling in the G, it must be a manual trans..

Yep.. IIRC… mine was $37.5k when I bought mine in March 2007… over 18 years ago… ordered 12/2006
That was a deal too.. no dealers near Seattle would come off MSRP so for an extra $700 or so had it trucked up from Bay area dealer I purchased it from in California.

dunno. i drive mine exclusively in manual mode. both shifter and paddles shift instantaneously/whenever i need it to (i prefer paddles over the shifter as i had one let go on me before lol).
re: S package. i did pick up a cheap low mileage vlsd off ebay some years ago and that was probably the best bang for the buck and no 1-tire fires haha have paddles and driver seat from a coupe, as well as the pedal overlays (+10HP easy). didn't want to mess with the brakes/rotors, as she has plenty (imho) of stopping power as is.
