i sure hope they add more sound insulation.
I was driving in the rain today, and i could hear SO MUCH water splashing into the rear fender wells......the water noise is embarrassingly loud for almost $40,000 car.

mine is an '05 6mt.
A friend was riding with me, and he commented on how "there is an aweful lot of noise in this car."
I love my G35, but that is very annoying. If I had test driven the car during a rain or whiile the roads were wet, I may not have purchased the car. It is certainly disappointing.

i realize that when you mention that, it's because you pay this much - you expect a certain level of quality... i'll say that i appreciate when infiniti cuts corners when they can, because it makes it more affordable to me.
(but mine didn't cost 40,000... i paid less than $30K)

Here is some info from Edmunds.com.. It may be a simple repeat of what's on here but take it for what it's worth.
Infiniti
• G35
Powered by a 300-plus-horsepower 3.5-liter V6, Infiniti's 3 Series fighter will take its first bow in New York. Continuing the march toward providing more and more do-it-for-you gear, the G35 will offer touchscreen navigation and a rearview monitor. Infiniti's Intelligent Key system ensures the G35 starts with the push of a button.

Talked to the dealer last week and they were certain it's going to be a 3.7 litre. But it isn't a bored out VQ, it's a whole new engine.
But then, what do the dealers know anyway...

anywhere between the 'infiniti warranty'd supercharger', and the 'stock 350z true dual exhaust better than a wimpy g35 single exhaust', to the 'stock 4 piston caliper on the g35 a/t coupe that out performs brembos'.
