Where did that quote come from? Sure, they may use it in the future, maybe even now, but no one here knows that, this is all speculation. By protect, it means to protect the name from being used by another company before they use it, that's called having foresight. Business sense huh? What do you do Sash?

Let's not begin a weenie wagging competition here... The touch screen or some type of massively updated navigation system is a give in simply because Infiniti MUST use this update to continue competing with BMW/Audi/Lexus. This update SHOULD be a lot bigger and better than the '05 update was although we'll wait and see. I look forward to all of the new tech features but don't expect any in-car amenities that you haven't already seen on the M and FX. Btw, has anyone noticed how the Q gets no love tech wise? It just kind of sits there at the top with nothing to do.

LOL, yeah, guess it was getting that way. I heard somewhere that they were going to stop building the Q for a year, to concentrate on other models or something. Oh, I'm sure the '07 G update will be better, but you are right, we have to wait and see. Nissan is doing a good job of covering any new design they have in store, that's good marketing on their part IMO, keeps us expecting more.

They should stick with the name G35 regardless the engine displacement. What if they upgrade the next next generation to 4.0L V8? A G40?

Oh, okay, I found it, as well as this comment, and have to say I agree:
G37 doesn't even roll off the tongue like the 35 did.
I wasn't trying to be a smart ass Sash, I was just curious, guess it did sound like that. LOL, I don't need any business help, the VA takes good care of me now, so no business stress anymore.

Lexus IS300 = 3.0l .... IS350 = 3.5l
BMW 325 = 2.5l 3.30 = 3.0l

WTF wouldn't the 3.7l G sedan be a G37? sound good to me.
The IS claims the to have the most powerful engine in its class 306hp, infiniti has to do something to combat that.

Infiniti has kept this car under super tight wraps, and I mean super tight, and it is likely because it is more than just a car it's unveiling! it is the new engine for a whole class of infiniti vehicles. This means they are revealing something to the competition about their next suv, etc. Other car companies may have those types of vehicles in design right now. I'm sure you follow what I am saying. To me all of the signs point to G37 and I welcome it!

I guess, but I still think it would be a mistake to change the current name, right now anyway, unless they were going to do it across the board, But too, from what I've seen, Mr. Ghosn seems to hype things, like he did with the '05, granted it was a nice evo, but at first he made it sound like a redesign IMO.

They're going to change the names across the board imo. The next M will be M37, the next FX will be FX37 - and when they up the displacement on the V* the FX45 and M45 names will probably change too.

Sorry my mistake. Actually all the 3 series Sedans are 3.0l whether 325 or 330, but the 325 coupes are only 2.5l so i was half wrong

Well, actually the wood is standard. The only way to get the faux brushed-aluminum trim is to go with the sport package.

I happen to like the IS's interior alot. Interior has always been a big selling point for me, so I'm anxiously awaiting the new G's changes. I think that was Infiniti's biggest downfall with the G.
