Fireworks 2009

Tried to photograph this past weekends fireworks. These are from Breckinridge Park in Garland/Richardson (Campbell and Brand). Here are the tips I read and used:
"Set your camera to Manual mode: ISO 200, aperture f/8, and shutter speed between 5 and 15 seconds. After you take a few pictures, take a look at how they are turning out, and adjust the shutter speed accordingly (leave the ISO and f-stop alone)."

I used my kit lense 55mm, so they are a little far away. Next year I plan to bust out the 300mm to get "closer".

These are unaltered...Enjoy!!!

Here is the whole album if you are bored: http://timsam.smugmug.com/gallery/88...82995385_bNmUp

Feel free to comment...I need all the help I can get!

nice, Breckenridge is real close to the house, but I know traffic can be a witch for fireworks. Me and twalls just watched from a neighborhood street

You were too far away from the fireworks. If you could not get closer then use a zoom lens.

Also a little slower shutter speed would have worked.

Here are a few examples of some of my fireworks shots..
