Check engine code

I have a check engine code p507.
Which has to do with idle speed.
Any known issues as to what might be wrong?
I have noticed an increase the past few days of the idle speed.
Thanks in advance for any help!

possible causes:

electronic throttle control actuator
intake air leak - you'll be able to hear it - usually
pcv system - loose hose

how many miles on your car?
any modifications?
recent work done?

Sorry guys for not getting back. Out of town on business.
The car is an 04 with 96,000.
I will check to see if I hear leaks when running.

well my bet is that the throttle body is all caked with gunk.

probably needs a good cleaning. but after this is done, the ECU will need to learn its idle. this is known as an Idle Air Volume Learn. dealer can do this for you. if you're a good customer they might not charge you.

I feel like there is some info floating around on how to manually get the ECU to learn its idle. I couldnt tell you.

do a search for "idle relearn procedure" make sure your sort by "relevance"

High idle = normally a bad throttle body or just bad calibration

Low idle = normally a vacuum leak, could be pcv valve

If you cleaned your TB then you need to reset your idle via the reset procedure. Many people have had issues after cleaning it where they could not get the TB to relearn idle air volume. This happened to me. I had to buy a new one.
