Just an FYI, something like this you may want to use the search next time since it's been covered so many times and u can avoid getting flamed.
Anyway, it's because your rev limiter is set too low, prob somewhere around 100 so it always stays on.

In order to fix this push the trip meter reset on the instrument panel until you get to the rev mode then hold it there until it blinks.
Now push the button until you get to your desired rev limit, say 8000 if you never want to see it come on again (since you should never rev it that high).
Then let it blink until it stops and you're done.
Now you can push the button down to go back to your trip meter.

It turns on and stays on because it's a shift light...

When people speak of the REV Light they always mean the red flashing light. I want the REV light itself OFF. I search and search but can't find out how to do it. Please don't flame this post! Also, the dealer said you can't turn that light off.

thats what i was asking too. The REV letter them self will not turn off if you have the rev up motor. Nothing we can really do bout that. The little read square that flashes can't be turned off either, if you hit the button on your dash for the trip. You will get to where you can control when it flashes. just hold it in till the numbers blink then u can move it up high enough,to what ever rpm you like, that it wont flash on your every day driving. when u get to the number just leave it and it will set itself.

You cannot turn off the REV light - it is on the 6MT's with the Rev Up engines - cannot be turned off.

6 years I have been looking at this REV light. I want to name my car REV. Now that I know for sure you can't turn off the light... I will just have to put a strip of black electrical tape over it. Or a Nirvana sticker. This light and the Navigation not being used in motion are the 2 things I despise about my car. Everything else, perfect.
