Exclamation Seat motor help!

I have a 2005 G35 Coupe and the back rest tilt motor and one of the other functions are burnt out. Has anyone replaced these seat motors themselves? Everything I've found so far is that they took it to a dealership and they were charged a retarded amount of money to fix it. There are a few wreckers that have the parts but apparently you have to buy the whole bracket with all 4 motors instead of the motors individually. If anyone has replaced these I would really appreciate their feedback! Thanks

if u find it post the link.. I looked for it before and could not find anything.. I have the same problem.. the tilt (back rest) part of the seat wont come forward. Someone said it might be the contact on the switch and not the motor.. In my case it will recline back, but will not come forward

It's definitely an annoying problem hey. I had a mechanic I know test the motors and there is power going all the way through but cuts off right at the motor so I'm pretty sure 2 of them are just burnt out. Also gets a little sketchy when you mess around with the wiring around the air bags.. but disconnecting the battery should solve that problem.

Thanks Shanecc my problem is different though. I have two completely burnt out motors so they need replacing. I'm just not much of a do it yourself kinda guy but there's no way I'm paying a dealership 1500 bucks for something I can fix for less then a quarter of that. I'm just curious if you can replace the individual motors or if they are stuck in place and need to replace the whole bottom seat bracket with all new motors.

Check all the wires goin into the white box to make sure none have been damage if your getting power to the motor when there out then they can be shorting when you put them back in. Try and use passenger exit button it got my seat working again when it would short out. If not buy a used seat and take the motors out should be able to find one on these forms kijji or your local scrapper does not matter what year or If it's a coupe or sedan just get it cheap and the newer the better and use the seat for parts but first loOk at all the wires and make sure none are exposed cause if a motor is burnt they would not power up

The forward and back motion works but the backrest tilt doesn't work. I had a mechanic I know take a quick look at it and he said the motors are fried and need new ones but that was about all I got. There is a wrecker that will sell me the bottom bracket with all 4 motors for 350 bucks or the whole seat for 700. I'm wondering if the motors for both passenger and driver side seats are the same. There is 2 burnt out on driver side and 1 for passenger side. If you they are the same and I can replace individual motors I only need one bracket and can just switch the burnt motors out otherwise I need to buy a bracket for each side.

Where you located kijji has seats cheap and a post just went up for both seats for a $100 or search part outs on kijji or slidegood.com and yes I would think the motors are all the same unless the have different gears Which I don't know
