Service Engine soon lamp questions??
Hi Guys so recently my Service Engine soon lamp came on and i took it into my dealer, they said that the battery was showing low and should be replaced for $242.00!! I said thanks I'll do it myself. They charged me $125.00 for this diagnostic and then reset the service engine soon lamp. The lamp has stayed off for 5 or 6 days but it's back on again. I'm planning on picking up a battery this weekend putting it in myself. My question is though will a low battery cause the computer to throw a code activating the service engine soon lamp? And once i replace the battery will the lamp go out? I'm getting the feeling that they are jerking me around I droppped off the car first thing in the morning and they didn't touch it til late afternoon when I called back and said I had to catch a ferry home. I don't have a code reader or I'd check and reset the code myself. It's a 2007 G35X with 115,000kms on it
Thanks for any advice.

Ok, so I stand corrected,
IF the battery is low, it can cause other items to throw codes, in fact the tech said, that all of our trouble codes have the disclaimer "could be caused by low battery" so you can always just take it up to the local auto zone, or O'Reilly and have the battery checked free.... if you replace the battery, and the code doesn't go away, or comes back, then you know you have another issue at work
