Ohh dear. My car wont start.

I turn the key, the starter spins but the engine will not run. I can not hear the fuel pump run when I turn the key to On and then try and start it. I heard the fuel pump hum once, and it started for a half a second, then dead. I think my fuel pump is out. How can I verify this?

No CEL.

 

I'm not mechanically inclined and could use some help.

I can hear the pump (there are more than one?) running when I removed the rear seats, but only intermittently.

 

I managed to get it to start after sitting all morning. It thew a CEL. I'll see what I can do about getting the code.
