Help, VDC OFF light, SLIP light, and SERVICE ENGINE SOON light all on

Hi guys, I need help, driving home normal speed 50 Kph, all of a sudden VDC OFF light, SLIP light, and the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light comes on and no power. Almost like the Valet Key was being used.

2004 G35 6mt coupe 103,000 kms

I pulled over and shut the car off, restart, same lights still on.

Seemed to get a bit of power in first gear, but nothing in 2nd, 3rd, etc.

I disconnected the negative battery cable and the VDC and Slip went out, but Service light is still on.

It seems like a code to me, but live in the country and not close to a diagnosis machine

Wasn't driven in rain, seem to be running fine up to this moment.

Any ideas, please?

Thanks,

Mark7

Thanks brother, this sucks big time, I kinda noticed it running a bit richer then usual, but the fuel, premium, is a joke right now, nobody uses it so it is less then optimum grade, at a 1.40 a liter.

Didn't notice any performance loss but like you said, it comes out of nowhere. Still have a Dodge truck that used to leave me stranded in the car wash, crank sensor.

Thanks,

Mark7

Same thing happened to me. I had a bad camshaft position sensor only one bad, but replaced both. Till this day no problems no check engine lights.

Why not try cam position sensors as mentioned here?

Only got 2 codes p0300 (random misfire) and p0081(intake valve control solenoid circuit bank 2).

Car will run fine then start misfiring when the slip and vdc light come on. If i hold revs at 3k rpm check engine light comes on and flashes.

Fix the random misfire first, pull, inspect, replace all your spark plugs. Inspect coil packs for blistering on the epoxy resin, scorching of the well tube, corrosion on the little contact spring inside the well tube. Also inspect the valve cover wells for any oil in the tube shafts.

Your bank 2 cam solenoid is probably messed up, unplug and inspect the harness for any corrosion or oil contamination.

Have you checked oil level lately?

Top of the engine right in front of the valve covers.
