2006 G35 Coupe or G35X
This summer, I am planning on purchasing a used G35 for around 13k. But I'm unsure of which model to get, g35x or g35 2006. The X i believe only comes in sedan but the 2006 comes in coupe. The coupe ofc, more stylish than the g35x. Meanwhile the g35x is 4wd and produced a bit more power?
This is going to be my first car.

I had originally wanted a coupe, but the Sedan offers much more practicality, and room for friends/gear, etc. I can put skis and a fishing pole through the pass through, and carry guests on trips. All pros for the Sedan over the Coupe. In person, the Sedan is more handsome than you may suspect. Also, note that the final gear ratios are different between models and model years. The 05-06 G35x has what many consider the preferred final drive ratio (I used to have a link to the chart but I would recommend looking into that if 0-60 and speed is the focus. I don't like manual for daily driving, so I ended up getting the G35x with 5AT. I would not trade this for a rear wheel drive car, simply because I live where we occasionally have snow, and we have lots of rain, so having the Attesa AWD is a huge plus. People forget too that the AWD drive system in these G35x's is the same as the old R34 GTR, and again the Skyline 350GT was a special car, with the AWD version, sold in the U.S. as the G35x, being the flagship. The other thing is that coupes get abused and often young buyers will skip required routine maintenance. Whichever route you go, you'll be happy, and what else is nice is that you will be able to do a lot of the work yourself with a simple ratchet set. (I've done my own Cam Shaft and O2 sensors and a few other jobs on the cheap with over the counter parts from Autozone or O'Reilly's. If you want speed, get a 2005 6MT Rev-Up edition (these are the fasted rear-wheel drive versions stock). My friend's father had one and it ripped, but eventually the water pump went out and it became more of a maintenance hog. So, ask yourself, do you ever want to go on a real road trip? Do you plan on ever having more than a single passenger? Do you simply want speed and good looks? Do you live where you may need or want AWD? Answer those questions for yourself, and you should be set with your choice.
