Check engine light blinking

Check engine light blinking
I noticed the other day that when I have my ignition on but engine off my check engine light stays on then blinks about 5 times then goes back to staying on until I start the motor and turns off is this normal or a possible problem

Get an OBD2 scanner and it'll tell you what is wrong. Most parts houses will scan for free.

Ohh I missed the part where the light turns off while the engine is running, a lamp test is part of the test for all vehicles normally.

I'll see what mine does but yeah, before the engine is started, it's a "lamp test". I don't recall that mine flashes though but maybe it does....
