Radio and ac stay on when car is off

I have a 2007 g35s sedan and whenever I turn the car off my radio and ac will stay on. Also while Im driving they will flicker on and off. Whenever it happens there is a little click that happens under the steering wheel. Anyone have any idea what it could be.

I'm going to take a guess that you may have an issue with one of the relays on the back side of your in-cabin fuse box, near the driver's left leg. Most likely the ACC relay which energizes a whole bunch of things including the AV control unit, display unit, camera control unit, etc... I'm just suggesting this based on looking at the factory service manual. I've never tried to access those relays so not sure how to swap them out, but maybe this will give you a place to start your troubleshooting.

Those relays are easy to access, open the driver door, remove the plastic trim piece at the bottom of the door threshold, it's just a couple screws.

Then pull straight up on the spare foot rest thingy for your left foot, it's not bolted, just lift it up it sits on a little metal stud on the floorpan.

Now remove the plastic kick panel, not just the little window to access Fuse Block - J/B, the entire plastic.

Now disconnect your battery, better to do the next part with that fuse block deenergized.

Once deenergized remove the two 10mm bolts from the top of the Fuse Block - J/B, lift the fuse block FORWARD away from the panel and you can sort of roll it forward to access those relays mounted to the back of it.

Keep in mind that picture linked above is if you were looking at the rear of the fuse block.

Well that's discouraging. This is the only thing I can think of that could cause your odd issue so I'm sorry if I was wrong. Did you actually replace that single relay or swap it with one of the others? And you're sure you got the right relay?

I replaced it but I can try and swap it with the others if you think that will work and Im pretty sure it was the correct one because when I pulled it the radio and ac controls went off

You pulled it while the car was still powered up? Be careful there. Best to head any advice given by cleric670 in this forum, he actually knows what he's talking about.

If you put a known-to-be-working relay in the correct spot and the symptoms didn't go away, that's not good. The power that activates this relay comes from pin-95 of your BCM. But if your BCM were the source of this problem then I would think many other weird things would be happening. The generic suggestion for all unexplainable weirdness is to check the passenger footwell and be sure that area, and the BCM just above it, is DRY. Water intrusion is an issue with our G's and can really mess with the BCM. We hope that's not your problem.

I believe those relays are all the same but I'd invest in a new one instead of swapping it with one of the others. If it really is a funky relay you'd be energizing other stuff which could lead to other problems.

Glad it's not a water leak issue. Sorry we couldn't figure it out for you but let us know what you find out. That's an unusual problem.
