I recently got my 07 coupe with the chipped key and no fob. I知 having issues with my alarm randomly going off. I知 planning on getting the fob replaced in a few weeks but is there anyway I can get the alarm to stop without leaving my car unlocked?

 

I'd first examine the hood switch to be sure it's properly aligned and being fully depressed when closed. If that wire grounds out the alarm goes off.

 

You can manually press the door locks (i.e. not using the lock button) and it won't arm the system.

The culprit is likely the hood switch though, arm the system normally. Wait 30+ seconds for the security to turn on, then wiggle the hood around and see if you can set the alarm off. The rubber dome might be missing on the switch or the bracket might be bent so the hood switch is JUST BARELY engaged.

If you're having issues with your trunk opening or the light turning on/off then I'd start there. It uses the same switch to monitor the trunk and turn on the light, it's built into the trunk latching mechanism.

Also, make sure your manual trunk release cable isn't bound up, give it a tug and make sure it's working. If someone pulled it and the cable didn't retract properly it might be setting off the trunk light and the security system.
