Gruppe M is European, however they've gone and developed a ram charger system for the VQ35DE...Odd, as they primarily develop mods for Porsche and other high-end Euro rides, but then again the 350Z (Fairlady) is being sold in Europe as well...Anyway, they go for about $430, and the VQ product is the Filter Hyper Charger...I'm still talking to them to get final, solid HP and torque gains, and I'm also trying to nail down whether or not I can use their brake kit...

Hello:

I recently installed a Stillen High flow air box and grounding cables to my 2003 G35.

Now I’m doing lets say 80mph on 3rd gear and I choose to slow down by braking hard and bringing the car into neutral to come to a trafic light, the engine will shut down.

I can inmediately restart he engine with no further problems but this situation worries me.

What should I do?

Re: Injen or Stillen

I have a 5 speed '93 Altima with K&N filter installed 1 year after I got the car. Since I installed it, I experienced the same thing when I'm on high speed (45+ MPH).
I have been driving it for the last 9 years without any problems (as of today, it still shuts down the engine if I put it in neutral when above 45+ MPH). However, as long as I don't put it in neutral it'll run like a champ OR if it stalls, just put in 4th or 5th gear and the engine would start up again.
Recently, I took the car to a mechanic to change my clutch for the first time in 10 years. I asked him about this problem. The mechanic said that this could be the computer chip is sensing too much air flow into the engine and the computer in the car isn't built to recognize the mass air flow (after the K&N), so the mass air and less fuel mixture is not recognized in the computer mapping thus shuts down the engine.
I assume that the mechanic was referring the ECU. This makes sense to me. So, I think Techno ECU mod might help the situation. Just my .02...

Oh yeah, I forgot one thing. After 9 years of driving with K&N filter, , I decided last week that it's about time to swap it out with the stock air filter, which I kept for 9 years.....
Now it doesn't stall even when I'm driving at 80+ MPH. This maybe your other solution. *_*
I'm not a mechanice though. Just my experience with my dear Altima which never broke down on me!!! Nissan buit nice engines, that's why I bought another Nissan, Infiniti G!!
