you idiot. who would spend a grand for a blingy plenum? Their site said average gains are 15 hp on NA and upwards of 50 no FI applications. Stop the hating. You are one to talk about bling dude.

So noone has any experience with this unit, yet its getting flamed? Not knocking anyone, but I was interested in this piece and it seems to be getting bad press (from you guys). My goals for my car are just to have a clean car with NA mods. So far I have you basic intake and exhaust setup from Top Fuel. I am looking at purchasing the JIC Exhaust Manifold as well.

For those that have experience with it:
Why is it designed poorly?
What gains(if dyno'd) have you experienced with it?
When do you feel the difference?
Would you recommend it?
Can I use an aftermarket intake in conjunction with the SSV?

i dont even know of anyone with these intakes, i think people automatically assume its bad cause of the kinetix throttle body I believe which made the car slower in the longer

according to stillen their intake adds 7 rwhp and their exhaust adds about 20whp. If u mod ur car believing that everything that is on a website is true then most of us should be putting down about 280whp and running mid 13s 1/4 mile. I would guess that having the car for so long u would know about all this.

OK...

I do have the Kinetix SSV on my car currently and yes, I do like the "bling factor"... I think it is a awesome looking manifold. Now that being said, I also have a Crawford plenum as well.

I dynoed them both within a week of each other and the HP output was almost identical with the edge going to the SSV... Now the Torque was another story... I LOST about 10 wheel TQ when I put the SSV on VS the Crawford...

So I gained a very slight increase in HP 2-4 and lost 10 TQ going from the Crawford to the SSV. This is on a Vortech SC set up with a 3.12 pulley.

So all in all the SSV DOES increase both HP and TQ over the stock Plenum but does not gain as much TQ as the crawford did in my case.

There are people with experience with this mod... There have been dyno's that showed loss NA... however there have been FI applications where it shows gains. Search and you will find.
