I have a 2004 6mt sedan and have just installed the 2005 sedan midpipe connecting to a Tanabe Y pipe up front. Does anyone know if there are any differences between the 2005 muffler and the 2003/4 muffler?

 

I don't know but looking at my 05 stock muffler, it is way too big and makes the car really quiet...

The question I have is why does the 05/06 muffler stick out farther than the 03/04? Is it because the 05/06 muffler is longer? I always wondered this...my new HKS still tucks in under the bumper

 

The 05 muffler is slightly longer than the 03/04, and slightly skinnier. I think I might have pictures of them side-by-side at home.
