JWT Pop Chargers are a very good filter upgrade, probably one of the best on the market. However, cold air intakes will make more power due to the resonance tuning that's inherent in their design. 5 years ago the JWT Pop basically lead the Nissan market for intakes, however since then the CAI's have really taken over and become somewhat of a standard as far as the leader in proven performance gains.

same here. CAI's are just for looks and dyno results IMO. worthless to me.

I'm the guy in Fresh Alloy who recently had the Pop-Charger installed. Very happy with this mod! Much improved sound and can actually feel a performance difference. I did have the Z-Tube installed at the same time so not sure what the Pop-Charger would do on it's own. No official dyno completed.

I have my 350Z tube on right now (got it 2 days ago) and my pop-charger is on the way. I didn't want to get a CAI because they're a B1tch to install and with the z tube and jwt, I don't have to worry about getting hydrolocked, since it can get pretty wet here in south florida.

Just got my Z tube and Pop charger on! All i gotta say is. Hello Z owners!(meaning i now sound like a Z) Its pretty loud from 3500 up. From 2500-3500, it just has a deeper tone to it. I would highly recommend this product!!! Excellent. Money well spent by me i think!

I talked to jim at JWT about it today. I have never actually looked at the Stillen box, but it is just a Pop charger with a housing around. For anyone who doesn't know, JWT makes the aluminum adapters for Stillens pop chargers. Jim said they did a lot of testing with now shield, the Stillen box and a couple different heat shields. There is a problem with the Stillen box in that it limits the air to the filter at high rpms. They found that it forced the filter to pull air from the side under the fender which is actually hot air coming off the side of the engine. This was causing the power to nose off at the very top. His solution was a more open heat shield to allow cooler air from the bumper to come up and meet the airflow demands.
As an interesting note, he hasn't tested a Z tube yet; but he will be soon. They did try an Injen CAI and found a problem with it. They actually got more power with a car on the dynoe with the pop charger. This was simply due to the fact the there is no bending in the airflow path. The short intake runs the straightest path to the throttle body. With the CAI, it may still actually make more power on the street from the ram-air effect of the intake location. I ordered a pop with the shield today. I also have a Z tube. I plan to dyno each separately and then together to see the real results.

Does anyone have pics of the new heat box for the JWT pop charger, the one that looks like the Stillen Air Box?
