Injen Intake RD1990

I have ordered this cold air intake for my sedan. Anyone have experience installing it? Ease of installation? Performance impressions? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Don't have it on the Sedan, but you can check out a comprehensive install and review on the Coupe system at www.g35coupe.net

I have the RD1990. When you get it, do not worry about the install instructions telling you to remove the whole front bumper skin. All you need to do is to jack up the left front tire. Remove that tire and simply remove the front half of the plastic inner fender liner, estreamly easy and your access is right their. I do not recommend that you remove the whole foam block or the plastic panel near it like the directions say to. Here's what I did.
The red arrow point to where I used a X-acto knife to slice a section of the foam block off. Make sure you reset you ECU when your done and allow for a period of time to let the ECU learn. While it's learning you may experience a stumble here and their as several non oem designs have done. As far as gains to be felt, I noticed a slight increase in power. I've seen some reviewer's that would say they got more however.

Re: Injen Intake RD1990

Questions:
Why not remove all the foam block and the plastic panel?
What period of time before the car is running normal again?

Thanks again.

Re: Injen Intake RD1990

I got the same intake, I didn't remove the whole block of foam in fear that water would get in there. If you remove the foam block you see the air filter from the front of the car, that alone got me worried about the water.

in any case, I'm not sure which one is right, I've heard both sides of the argument. I chose to leave mine in for now, maybe I'll move it. Logically thinking about it, would tell you to remove it so more air can get into the air filter......

as far as the ECU learn time, I think a few sessions of driving should be sufficient. The ECU will learn how you drive anyways, whether you grandma it, or ride hard from what i understand

good luck
