Intake and water puddles?

I hear that you can install a water shield for the intake. Does this allow you to drive freely through water puddles? If so, where can I buy a water shield for the intake?

No it does not mean you can drive freely through puddles unless you want your motor to go into hydrolock and cease on you. AEM makes a bypass valve to keep most of the water from passing through your intake. Check them out www.aem.com.

+1 you don't need a bypass valve unless you get a CAI. just don't drive through extremely deep puddles.

Why not just avoid using CAI type intakes in the 1st place? They don't seem to give you any hp anyway. At least not over the normal JWT/Stillen types.
