Re: water in intake

Your plugs could have gotten wet.... try pulling the wires and let them dry out (if wet). Were you going fast? If you hydrolocked your engine, chances are it won't even crank. If it cranks but won't turn over, just give it some time to dry out.

Re: water in intake

Pull your spark plugs out and crank over the engine. This will hopefully get out any water that is in the cylinders. I would do a compression check, then install new spark plugs. You may also want to consider taking it to the dealership, or a shop you trust, and contacting your insurance company.

Dang, hope all works out for you. It's stuff like this that makes me nervous about getting a CAI.

Re: water in intake

yea its hydrowed. pulled the plugs this morning and would turn so its water in the pistons and most likely a total loss on the engine. having it towed to dealer. FUKC!

Re: water in intake

I'm no expert, but I blowup my 300zxTT (Stillen tricked-out 409Hp) engine by trying to start it after driving through a huge puddle in a rain storm. That is how I ended up with a G35C6mt. I still have the car, but not in the mood to drop $10,000 into an engine rebuild. I suggest "not" trying to start it & tow it to your dealer. Let them figure out the damage. (if any)

Re: water in intake

Had the same thing happened to my parent's Maxima a few years back. My mom drove through a big puddle. Flooded out, and we had to push it out of the puddle, then wait a while before it started. I think sometime during this, one of the connecting rods got cracked. About a month later, I got on it, and BOOM! Motor blows. Broken connecting rod. Luckily, since it was about a month from crack to break, warranty covered a new motor.
