Arrow One more sound question

Hi everyone! This is my first post on an Infiniti forum.. Well just got a 03 g35 and love every part of it!

My question is about the change in sound after installing an intake system. I was thinking about the Pop Charger.. Here is the thing, i wanna make sure that the sound doesn't get louder with the intake system up to about 4K RPM... It probably sounds weird since I see everyone looking for a louder sound.. I just wanna sometimes enjoy a nice, quiet ride as well.. So I'm asking this question since I never had an intake before..

So those of you who have the intakes installed (with or without the z-tube), could you please tell me if your sound changed @ lower rpm (< 3.5 - 4K)??

I would really appreciate your responses!!

The aftermarket intakes make alot of noise when you "get on the throttle".
If you are just mildly accelerating, it does't make that much of a difference. But stomp on the throttle, everyone around you knows where your foot is!

If you're just cruising, I wouldn't worry about it because you wouldn't even know it's there. You will get the whistle noise though I believe around 3k rpm but nothing extremely loud. Once you go WOT, that's when you'll notice the increase in sound and a deeper sound.

If there is no performance gain, why not just add a K& n and call it a day. Probably same gains, and way less money. Put the money saved towards a plenum spacer that can actually net you 10-14hp.

I understand you get a change in sound form that as well.

jon!
