Shield for Injen or other intakes??

Is there a shield available that partially covers the filter on the Injen intake that will help deflect debris/water? I have seen some of the intake systems with this add on around the filter, but dont see it on Injens website. Its either polished or chromed. I'm aware of the foam bypass valve and dont want that.

Why don't you want the bypass? My vacuum measurements show the Nismo bypass is completely inactive (no vacuum change) at any rpm or speed (no testing above 105mph) unless a large section of the filter is covered. Clearly, it's not taking air from the bypass unless it has to; the path of least resistance is overwhelmingly through the normal filter.

Those filters will clog up quick with salt if you are form the north. That might help some.

Can I buy the Nismo bypass seperatly and install it on the Injen intake? Where can I get just the bypass? If its not that big of a difference, I would rather have the protection against water.

I am from Northern Indiana. Salt capital of the country. Would probably take the Injen off in the winter anyways.

That part that you circled is the Injen heatshield. You can get it here: http://www.ultrarev.com/ecart/shopexd.asp?id=9817

X, I think someone on the forum put an AEM bypass on the Injen intake, but I'm not certain. Maybe search it or start a new thread.
