Bummed! Series of Exhaust ?s... I know, more right?

I've searched, read and know what I want - but I'm a frugal guy. Frugal as in I love to see my money go a long way (ie buying used) - and have decided on the Nismo S-Tune exhaust. Is there really no Nismo S-Tune that's a direct bolt-on for the G35 without a 6" or 8" extension? And must one always extend the tips 2"?

Also, true duals - for sound and 12-14 extra horses? Is that why people do true duals? Or do they primarily do them for FI? I'm new to all this and am trying to edumacate myself...

The Nismo S-Tune is a 3" exhaust, does that mean it would be better suited for an FI car? OR FI exhausts usually true dual 3"?

Last but not least I've searched classifieds, and the marketplace and couldn't find an S-Tune exhaust for sale (that's replied or that isn't pending). I found a Nismo S-Tune for about $950.00 shipped from Ultimate Z, it says it's a direct bolt-on replacement for the G35 - sound reasonable? I've emailed and due to the research I've done I haven't found ANY direct bolt-on S-Tunes for the G, so they might be iffy?

Should I seriously consider just sticking with my OEM? I want a deeper growl and a few extra HPs, but want to keep it as close to stock as possible. I did a search for Fast Intentions stuff, and dig what I've seen... Someone suggested instead of doing a whole catback just upgrading to some fast intentions parts for the growl... But which parts!?

Peace and love from the gray, rainy city of Seattle (I'm outta here soon)

Thanks for those who help, and for those who need to get a quip in, it's cool.

I believe there is a direct replacement S-tune available for the G coupe. If Nissan made an exhaust for the coupe, I can assure you it was not made with the intention of it being used with forced induction because Nissan does not offer a forced induction kit for the G35. From the reviews I have read and the sound clips I have heard, I would go with the Fast Intentions exhaust.

Most of your questions have been answered many many times already.

There used to be a nismo s-tune exhaust for the cpv35 (G35 coupe) that was special order from Japan, but it was DISCONTINUED a few years ago. And even when it was available, it was like $2500 due to shipping costs which you can get a titanium exhaust for that kind of money.

UltimateZ's website is misleading b/c it will "bolt on" to the G coupe with the extension piece, but the tips will be too tucked in. It will not look right without modifification. I guarantee you it is the S-tune exhaust made for the Z.

You are better off going for an exhaust that is made specifically for the G.

There are many options.

The nismo s-tune is a 3 inch single path exhaust, like the Fuji. Really only good for N/A and S/C.

Turbos like larger piping diameter, preferrably a true dual.

If u plan to stay N/A or S/C I would recommend the Fujitsubo exhaust (should be less than $900) it is a 2 piece exhaust tho--you'll need to buy a y pipe too (Fuji has one available).

Fast Intentions exhausts are also very popular on the boards.

G/L with your purchase.

Take your 40 posts and STFU. Seriously, how do you think most of the rest of us came to a conclusion about each and every modification we did?

SEARCHING, READING, GOOGLING, YOU-TUBING, LISTENING TO THINGS IN PERSON, ETC ETC ETC

3.0" best for turbo (esp. high boost applications), but some SC's need 2.5" to maintain back pressure

NA do not go above 2.5"

And my $0.02? Fast Intentions without question. Add HFCs and call it a day. If you're patient you can find a quality used setup. I got mine for under $1000

not LEO, attorney bro.

IF you were really itching to get the nismo, get the Fuji, essentially it's the same design as the Nismo (Fuji also makes the exhausts for nismo)--single path 3 inch exhaust, except the Fuji has slightly larger tips.

You'll be able to get one specifically for the G without much wait. Many vendors should offer it.
