STILLEN exhaust

I need opinion from owners of this exhaust. How does it sound when it's idle? Is it loud when your cruising? And overall is it worth the money?

thanks

I do not own a Stillen Exhaust. However, recently I was given a loaner by the dealer. This dealership is mod friendly and lightly modded this auto g35 coupe loaner.

Besides i.c.e., the loaner had a Stillen intake and Stillen Exhaust. The exhaust had double walled tip, true dual.

Honestly, the exhaust sounded like @ss. At idle at below 3k it was obnoxiously loud--felt sluggish at low rpm, but better at higher rpm. Also sounded better from 5k plus.

I couldn't stand it. I returned it and exhanged it for a new g35 sedan w/ hr engine. Much better for a loaner.

Many owners of the Stillen will say they like it I imagine, and it has shown impressive gains.

But, me myself, I am not a fan (but I do run an Amuse titan exhaust on my G, so I am extremely picky with the parts that go on my car).

Also, I should note that the Stillen exhaust on the loaner had completely "fallen off" the car when a customer was driving it, and the everything but the tips and canister were rusted out x02 style! Chicago area btw.

Nyways best to look and hear in person before buying.

G/L with ur purchase.

I have the g35 coupe single wall exhaust and it is great! At idle it sounds like stock and after about 3k RPMS you realise its not stock, but still maintains that note. I have been trying to get some sound clips, but i haven't been able to. I will see what i can do tonight.

the Stillen is one of the best systems out there... for the sedan. there are a lot more options for the coupe. what are you lookin' for, sound? performance? wieght? looks? value?

If you're looking for something loud/angry/obnoxious the Stillen dual is not the exhaust for you. If you're looking for something a little louder than stock, alot more refined, and low/no drone when cruising then you'll most likely like it. I'm running the Stillen intake and true dual exhaust (neither of which have "fallen off" the car) and IMO they're a great combination.

If you're looking for the loud/angry/obnoxious exhaust you may want to check out an HKS.

u must have a different understanding of loud/angry/obnoxious exhaust note than me. the hks (like my amuse) has a much more "tuned" high pitched note and is actually somewhat quieter than stock below 3k rpm.

The stillen I heard was completely the opposite. obnoxious and loud in low rpms, and there was plenty of drone.

Maybe the exhaust on my loaner was not installed correctly (it wasn't when it fell off), or maybe it was damaged. either way it sounded like sh@t to me. no denying the rust though. I suspect the quality of the metal on the piping is inferior than the tips. Also the stillen weighs more than stock. No denying the impressive gains on the stillen tho.

At the end of the day, it is user preference. "One man's trash is another man's treasure."
