aftmkt mid pipe and catback, with stock rear section ??

I want some more power from my G , But do NOT want it loud at all.

I'm wondering how it would sound with a aftermarket y-pipe, midpipe and and catback, but id leave the part behind the axle stock.

The muffler seems to me like it flows good, and gains come from increased piping size , flow and removal of the huge canister in the back.

What do you guys think?

anyone running a similar setup?

I am running berk hfcs, tanabe y pipe going into the oem midpipe. I had the HKS rear section but after the hfcs, it was just too loud. I put the oem rear section back on and you tell it is not stock but it is not obnoxious either. I have given thought to picking up a coupe midpipe, getting an additional hanger welded on and seeing how much louder it is. I do not have any sound clips but I will see if I can scrounge some up. I could stand an small increase in sound but trying to stay under what the HKS sounded like.

I would suggest just getting Berk Tech HFC and keep the rest stock for 05/06 sedan.

Do you have a aftermarket y-pipe ?

i did feel a little but how much i am not sure. i got a dyno done at about 8k miles with only a MD spacer and that shop closed down so i cannot reuse the same dyno. i have a tanabe y pipe, it was the only y pipe i could find that would closely match the stock midpipe inlet. the hks y pipe was a tad smaller and better fit for the stock midpipe but no vendors i emailed could get their hands on it. every other y pipe was a 3" outlet and i did not want to create blockage when i put that up to the stock midpipe.

SAE on a dynojet model# 248 was 227 hp and 214 tq. Std correction was 232 hp and 220 tq. All pulls were done in 4th. I am positive it has more power now and hopefully I can find another dynojet 248 to do some runs on.

those numbers are with the 5/16 manifold spacer only at 8k with dino oil. i am not one to put up a list up things why i thought the numbers were low because dynos have always humbled me. if there were two contributing factors i would say the car did not have much mileage on it and other cars were dynoing lower that day than they said was typical. my a/f was pretty clean so i was happy about that. the auto is obviously less efficient at getting the power to the wheels than the 6 speed. i plan on making some rockingham passes and some dyno pulls in the fall. i have been giving thought to going the Osiris route but can hopefully make a decision before much more time passes.
