EVERYONE should put the 07 HR Y-Pipe on their Gs. I just finished the installation and I am very happy. The exhaust sounds a little more exotic when you get on it, and a little quieter at idle. I feel more power in the mid range and when I slam gears I can feel a difference (Butt Dyno). Thanks for the write-up DaveB!

OK, so you guys have convinced me that I need to do this mod. I've posted in a few for sale threads on my350z.com with no luck yet. I'll let you guys know when I get one.

^Cool, you finally got one. I noticed that you have been trying to get one too, looks like I'm next in line. Hopefully I can land one for $100+ shipping. Don't want to pay anymore than that.

PM which seller you purchased from so I can cross them off my list.

Give it time. It will get even better.

Today I confirmed that the HR factory headers will indeed fit the VQ35DE as long as I use the HR cats (which flow a lot better as well). HR manifolds and cats are going for about $200. My car is going to be "Factory Frankenstein"

AWESOME! I wish I had a before and after dyno, it would be interesting.

I bought my Y-pipe for $100 shipped.

I'm going to be dynoing my car for the first time on the 8th at a dyno day in SoCal. If I happen to purchase the y-pipe and receive it before then, I'll hold off on the install so that I can share some before and after results.

It would be great if you put the stock exhaust on and then dyno'd before and after.

DaveB, since you have a nonrevup, any comments on what you think the results will be like on a revup engine?

It feels like the power carries better through the shift into the next gear. So with the extended rev limit on the rev-ups you should see a bigger difference.

Dave, when you refer to the "factory headers".. are you talking about the factory exhaust manifold itself.. versus an NISMO or aftermarket tubular header?

Got my HR pipe put on the other day. Not sure what my thoughts are yet. Maybe it's because I already had HFCs put on that it's not going to be a big enough difference. I'll have to drive the car around a bit more to give a better impression, but I *think* the exhaust is a tad louder. However I might just be telling myself that, lol.

Closed the deal on my350z.com for an 07 OEM Exhaust (Y-Pipe back, no cats) for $100 picked up locally. The guy wants the whole exhaust out of his garage so I'll pick up all the parts and sell the mid-pipe and muffler for cheap to someone locally. Looking forward to hear, feel and see what this mod does to my ride.

Nope. The HR comes with factory headers. The DE and Revup have exhaust manifolds. IMO, the great thing about the HR OEM headers is that they'll fit exactly like stock, they have a really thick gauge which will help retain heat in the pipes (ideal for exhaust velocity) plus the headers have heat shields which keeps the engine bay temps a lot lower.

HR OEM headers

DE OEM exhaust manifolds
