Hey Dave, I really like the front to back sound I'm getting with the combination of the 06 air box horn and the HR Y-pipe.. very throaty from about 4000 rpm up... just a touch of the go pedal and it SINGS out with authority.. but yet acceleration is so freakin' linear... so effortlessly.. I'm LOVIN' it man!! all I need to do now is get that 06 mid-pipe installed to finish it up... thought about the header and cats.. but I'll wait on that and see how well it works for you and the others that are pursuing this project... film at 11!

Great to hear about the 06 airbox. I ordered my 06 airbox on 11/19 from EverythingG35. The thing was backordered or not something they stock. Hopefully I'll see it sometime late this week or early next week.

You'll like the setup!

Has anyone dynoed this G with the HR y-pipe? For the few coupe owners that have one, how does it feel now that you have had it on for a while? I would like to hear coupe owner's thought. I noticed that there are more sedan owner's that have this pipe on and they pretty much share the same sentiments about the HR y-pipe.

As a matter of fact, I have a G37 HR Y pipe on my 04 G35x sedan... and believe it or not... my Infiniti dealer hooked me up with it the last time I was in for some service.. very sweet! It was used stock from an owner that came in and had them install a custom exhaust system... so they "just happened to have it layin' around"! It's the same configuration as the 350Z, minus the hockey pucks... otherwise, the same pipe... with the same results! What a nice change of pace.. the dealer hookin' a brother up...

Sweet deal and thanking for confirming that the G37 coupe Y-pipe works. That means the HR G35/G37 sedan y-pipe should work as well.

I got my 06 airbox finally. Unfortunately the weather is nasty and the roads are slick. It will be a few days before I can test it out.

Hey DaveB i love this mod i just went out today and picked one up and installed it, i used my old gaskets (i am planing on getting new ones in the future just for personal satisfaction haha) and i took off those metal pug things, i left the old bolts(not the nuts) on sicne they seem to be welded on or atleast really held in palce good.

i must say right a way my car feels muchhh more repsonsive and not so bogged down, didnt notice much in exhaust sounds but might be a little differant while im standing behind it.

But overall i give this mod a 10/10 very easy install (if you have change the bolts before sicne they are very rusted), took 10 minutes to jack up the car take off old y pipe and install this one, and car feels much mroe responsive.

Thanks a ton DaveB

Y pipe's that will work

So here is a list of all y pipe's that should work:

2005–2006 Infiniti G35 sedan and coupe with manual transmission (revup)
2007–present Infiniti G35
2007–present Nissan 350Z
2008–present Infiniti G37

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_VQ_engine#VQ35HR

The only compatable car that suprises me is the G37 due to the larger 3.7L engine.
