Re: Z Tube from Nissan
I did the same in S. FL but the part listed for $100. I got a friend who owns a repair garage buy it with his 20% discount for $80.

Re: Z Tube from Nissan
You can also check the G35driver.com classifieds for any that might be up for sale, or you can also check online. I didn't get my Z tube from a local Nissan dealer, but I paid $75 plus minimal shipping from EverythingG35.com (PerformanceNissanParts.com also has it for $75). However, note that some people on G35driver.com's classified section are asking as much or more for their 'used' Z tubes. It's great that we have another place to buy parts and accessories for our G35s (from other G35 enthusiasts), but in the real world, typically used parts are sold at a discount. Plus, the retailers take Visa! I was a bit surpised when I saw the used Z tube prices were roughly the same as new...I expected to see them offered at $45-$60 shipped. Personally, I would rather buy new with a money back warranty, which is what I did and I'm very pleased with it.

Re: Z Tube from Nissan
That's a BIG YES!!!! Many people here would highly recommend installing the Z Tube along with a K&N drop in air filter (myself included). Not only does it improve the sound (the baffles in the stock G35 air intake tube limit the sound and restricts air flow), but it is said to increase HP and possibly gas mileage (although I've noticed a slight decrease in mileage due to my addiction to hearing the much louder growl above 3,500 RPMs ;-)
See the Central Florida Dyno thread for recent tests done by G35 enthusiasts in the Orlando and Tampa areas...they noted a modest HP increase with a Z Tube/K&N (I believe they recorded more HP increase than a CAI), and concluded the Z Tube was surprisingly more bang for the buck! Don't forget that the engine is the same across the board for the G35 Sedan and Coupe, 350Z, and FX35, but only the G35 Sedan supposedly has 260HP/260 lb/ft. Tq; all the others are rated at 280HP/280 lb/ft Tq (although I think the 350Z is rated even higher - 288HP maybe?)...gee, I wonder why this is??? The air intake and exhaust system perhaps???
As far as the warranty goes, I'm not sure but it's been said that it would only void the warranty on the air intake, not the entire Powertrain/Total Warranty...you may want to check with others on this. Go for it...for a little $$, you get a lot more power and a very addictive sound from your 350Z....I mean Infiniti G35!!! ;-)

Re: Z Tube from Nissan
People are selling used ones for as much as new because people are buying them at those prices. If everyone stopped buying used ones for the price of new ones, the used ones would drop in price.
