At least on paper, they didn't want the Sedan to have the same power as the Coup or the 350Z. So they under rated it.

I have both a 04 G35 Sedan with a non-revup and a 06 350Z with revup engine. And if they both have the MREV2 and spacer installed, they dyno identically.

Tony
I had no clue that Infiniti under rated the engine output on the 04 sedans.

Also very interesting that the 04 sedan and the 06 rev-up 350Z dyno the same with the MREV2 and spacer.

yea but tony mention that if you have a non rev-up motor you should get the spacers first and the MREV is a option after you get the spacers

I thought I read somewhere that there would be a problem closing the hood if you install the MREV with the 5/16 space on the sedans. Can someone verifiy if this is true.

No, not at all. The MREV2 is the exact same height as the stock lower collector because it is a modified (non-revup) lower collector.

The combination fits perfectly. After installation it will look and fit like stock.

Tony...I've always read that the MREV2 only showed significant gains on the revup engine...can you please clear up if non-revup will show similar gains as well? I already know they will bolt up on both.

Thanks

I've debated exhaust for a long time but am still not sure if I'm willing to go that route. I had a HKS HiPower setup on my 300ZX that sounded amazing, was incredibly loud and received a proportionate amount of police attention leading to many tickets (even though I had it checked by a state referee and with silencers installed it barely passed so I had paperwork to prove legality). I've wanted a more exotic sound but not sure if I'm willing to deal with any drone since in daily driving the car spends most of it's time below 3000rpm.

the drone is minimal imo. But, you may not agree. The only time I feel it is much is occasionally when I have a stressful day and drive home with a pre-existing headache or say a cold/congestion aches. The good thing is it is relatively quiet at cruise and then sounds wicked azz good/loud at WOT along with some cool pops and burbling noises. The small amounts of drone imo are WELL worth the sweet serving of "Get acquainted with my tail lights and HKS exhaust spray" when passing someone.DOMO

Below is a comparison of Stock Vs Spacer Vs MREV2 Vs Spacer with MREV2. All of this testing was performed on a 2004 G35 Sedan with the non-revup engine.

Also see this link to an independent test on a NON-REVUP engine.
