from the looks of it - we have the XYZ we just need to switch the piece after the XYZ to the VQ setup. i wonder if Tony does exchanges or if Riverside Infiniti can help with this exchange.

I liked the sound at first - but when you're driving as a means of transportation or if you are trying to talk to someone, you can't. the drone is just that bad. maybe ours are defective?

the break in period sounds legit for the outside of the car - it has gradually gotten quieter and quieter outside. but the inside only gets softer if you open the window to let some of the inside sound out. lol

seriously its making me hate my new car.

Yeah I know what you mean, I avoid having people in my car now cause the noise is so annoying and awkward. Just wish we could keep the outside sound and get rid of the inside noise.

i'm hoping the VQ system with MD resonated test pipes will do the trick. Seriously, I gotta find a way to fix this problem fast.

there should be some sort of warning on it that there will be substantial droning and that it is a very bad idea for a everyday car. no more advil for me. i must solve this problem 2morrow. i don't think i can manage going this weekend like this.

^I'm surprised to hear this. I have it on my Z and G and don't have it.
Are you running test pipes?

No test pipes. Just stock cats.

its unbearably loud at this point. It's soft outside because of the gamma but inside the car I'm burning so much gas just to get away from that sound. pretty much everything under 3kRPM is bad. above 3k rpm is more tolerable, but not great. I'm considering going back to stock today unless I can exchange my setup for a VQ setup. VQ as I've read on your site doesn't drone at all?

Tony I'd be happy to bring the car out to you for you to hear the sound. Maybe you can determine if it's a problem with the pipes I have and we can do an exchange for the VQ system? Unless you could help me out with Riverside Infiniti and get them to do the exchange for me since I'll be headed out there anyway today??????

The VQ doesn't drone at all.
But I'm curious as to what is happening with your TDX Shockwave.
I have the same setup with the diffuser tips (which is the loudest of all variations) and its nothing like your description.
I do however have the 6MT on both of my cars. I'll check into this.

Will you be in my area again? I would like to see and hear it in your car.

I bought a used MD exhaust from someone but he screwed up the tips... Is there any way I can buy just the titanium tips?

^^ The 4" Ti tips alone are $90 each I believe, they should be on the MD site.

Hopefully you guys can determine what's causing the droning, and find a solution. Could us both being 5AT have anything to do with it?
