I also noticed better low end and a deeper exhaust tone. I love the fact that it is a factory piece and there are no signs of any modification.

no worries, as long as everyone is happy with the new OEM mod. Just glad mine came with one stock!

I wish mine did. $80 seems a bit steep...but if the gains are really all that everyone says...it should be worth it!

Thanks. I wonder if there's such a thing as too tall of a velocity stack? (within reason though).

I was looking at my stock box with the small V-stack. Going too tall might leave a too small of a space inbetween the end of the stack and the filter element.

I'll post again after I've done more research. So far it looks good though.

The revised stack sits within an 1" or less of the filter. Obviously Nissan saw some sort of advantage going with it and saw no need to increase the depth of the airbox to exceed the distance between the stack and filter.

I'm now pretty sure the purpose of the stack was to improve throttle response of the revup since it uses the higher flow intake manifold which deadens low rpm throttle response. By lengthening the intact tract about 1.5" would improve the throttle response and in many cases, low rpm torque. The trade off becomes slightly reduced high rpm performance. I don't feel a loss of high rpm power (it actually feels better). Maybe that's where the large air horn improves things.

I'm just shocked at how much of a driveability improvement these two OEM mods have on the VQ35DE.

Godman's was actually the first one to do the HR y-pipe, but didn't really post up much about it. I don't think I was the one to come up with the airbox idea either. All I've done is post up my experiences with both mods. It appears that everyone that has installed the two parts seem to love them and share my experience.

Good job to everyone that helped. I'll be testing the airbox out this week.

I would get the HR Y-Pipe if I didn't already have a JIC Y-Pipe.

So, I was comparing the two intake covers yesterday and both the inlets/outlets are 2.75". The revup box does not have a larger diameter. The only difference in the revup box is a more pronounced trumpet horn end. Is this correct?

the diameter is not larger; the length/depth is longer.
