no... the Z intake is different than G... thats why he said the cover from the Z wont work.
Here's a pic of the Z box:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissa...ayphotohosting

The Z actually has a better-designed intake IMO - not the induction tube, the airbox and location itself.

Anyway - the 06 G and 03 G box are the same - so use the back cover from 06 and put on 03.

If you end up getting the Z box that’s what DaveB was talking about by removing the velocity stack and installing on your box.

Damn this thread ended up getting really confusing

After all my researched this will be the best set up, with the 06 air box, ztube, and k&n. Because the cai lose bottum end and the rest have heat soak and ur gaining over stock with this set up so i think its the best you can do imo.

Question

Got my cover today... quick question to those that have one - how many clips are there? I thought the 04 I have had 2 clips on each 1/2 staggered opposite corners... this 06 cover has only 1 clip on the passenger side (cant remember upper or lower)... my front 1/2 is at paint shop and original back half is at home - and I'm at work... so I cant check

Also - something else to mention... all the pics I've seen posted in this thread show the stack being gold/bronze color... mine is silver

Nevermind... I just looked at my original rear cover and it only has 1 clip/latch... the front cover apparently has the other 3 corners...

I don’t think so... the threaded inserts that the MAFS housing bolts up to are silver too (original is gold/bronze) - even the threads – I don’t think heat would/could change the color…. The capped off nipple is also silver on new, gold on old… what is that for anyway?

It's really not an issue, I'm just wondering if anyone else that ordered replacement got silver or gold?

Mine was the bronze color. We've all been buying up the old ones so maybe had to go to production with them and silver is the new color?
