Installed AEM cold air intake and now problems!
I installed a brand new cold air intake AEM.... I have a 2004 g35 coupe with only 48k miles all stock w/ auto trans.
I put this in about a month ago and now i hear a rattle noise during low idle speads about 1500-2500 rpm....
And i know this is wierd but when im coming to a red light stop or bumper to bumper traffic i shift into Neutral but while driving even like 20mph and take foot off gas and shift to N the engine stalls out!
I have a bumper to bumper warranty but im sure this intake will void warranty... Has any one heard of this intake doing anything like this?
and should i switch back to the stock intake for good and if i bring it in for service???

The rattle is most likely being caused by a portion of the intake hitting a part of the chassis. Don't forget that the engine torques around in it's mounts quite a bit which then tugs at the intake tract. Simply grasp the intake and move it around. Chances are you'll see where the intake is hitting the chassis. Problem solved.

Call me lazy, but I just put some Gorilla Tape on the hole and traded it for an '06 G35 Coupe. Had it for two weeks. BTW, love this forum.

Either way, it isn't a vacuum leak. If it was, your motor will be revving by itself, sometimes until it dies out on you.
And quit shifting your automatic transmission... it takes care of itself for you already.

Alright thanks guys.... Took out the intake today but still hear the same rattle its at like idle and -2500 rpms.... sitting still and driving.
Installed the stock intake and same problem with the car stalling out. I understand its an auto but what automatic do you hear of stalling the engine out when you shift to neutral? Non that i did....
but if your sitting at a red light and just flip it from D to N it goes to like 200 rpms then 900 than just goes down and stalls...
IDK what the hell that prob is...
im just gunna bring it to the dealer....

Hey thanks for the Clearance Spec.... I seen that during the install and i put a rubber vibration cushion the MAF where it hits touches that hose..... But good loooking out thanks...
And guys to clear things up... I dont shift into N while driving say 60mph...
When i come to a traffic stop i did it maybe like 5 times!!! ITs not a common thing but its just the point that the car shouldnt stall out if shift into N even if i was doing 80 and popped it into N you know what i mean...
