I've been using Second Skin to lessen the drone on my exhaust. It does help reduce it somewhat.

Best bet would be to either get another exhaust or add larger mufflers to the Stillen.

+1 for B-Quiet mat... I have it in the trunk (I have Stillen gen1)... it doesn’t omit the drone, but definitely muffles it – its lighter that dynamat and is easily removable for track days…. I recommend it

the first thing i did to my 04' exhaust was the axle back HKS. not much drone, imo, and sounded good. i got tired of it and wanted something louder or just something different. i took out the stock midpipe and resonator and repalced it w/ a mandrel bent 2.5 inch midpipe and magnaflow/straight pipe premuffler. now i have GOBS of drone and it's really loud after i've been on the freeway for a bit.

so, i initially thought the drone resulted from the muffler but w/ our cars, i think a lot has to do w/ the midpipe and resonator. just my 0.02

I drove it today on 407 and 404 this morning to work and have to say that this exhaust is PERFECT for a highway driving. It opens up after 3000 RPM and sounds great + the power IS there...
Overall I think I lost some power/torque at the lower RPM but gained loads over 3000 RPM...
I think I can get used to it...
We went to Rogers Center for the Disney on Ice with my daughter and at least three car alarms went off when I started up the car to leave LOL.
So I guess I'm starting to like it and will just install a bigger resonator (+1 Cremaster) once my ears start bleeding from the city driving.

i had the same problem with 1st gen stillen exhaust - and with crawford cats and hears it was super-bad. at 2.4k rpm it resonated with the car's interior (especially plastic in the B-pillars) and it was pretty annoying. no way to get around it - get a different exhaust.

Yea... right. Not after I spent an arm and a leg getting it across the border
What I'm going to do instead is resonate it properly... another $300 out of my pocket.

If you decide you hate it, you can come ride around with me for a few days. Mine has quite a bit of drone and you will probably like yours more afterwords.

To start, you can put a more "restrictive" rear muffler at the rear. The straight through muffler is the source of your problem.

There was someone on the board who cut away the rear stillen muffler and installed two separate muffler on each end of the pipe.
