yes you can make it into a short ram. just fabricate a small piece.

It's not hard to put back in the stock config at all. about 20 minutes.

IF I go CAI it takes long to remove the bumper =(

OvaYaHead, when you said just fabricate a small piece with the short ram setup...

It is just install the filter on the end of the first tube?

yup, or you can try to make a small piece out of a large diameter pvc pipe. It's just that the mouth of the filter won't fit onto the mass air flow sensor tube. The air flow tube is a smaller diameter.

Snow is no problem with CAI, snow doesnt go inside the hood, it just glides over the car when you drive...as if your car is in a wind-tunnel...CAI will always be better than stock in any temperature weather because there is much less air-restriction

BlackV35Skyline: "Should i be concerned about having water enter my engine on the G35 Coupe. The cone filter is about 6-9 inches off the ground. Im really confused as i have been told not to worry. And i have also been told that i should buy the AEM Bypass Valve.

Also, if i do decide to put on a AEM Bypass Valve, do you think that the valve will take away some performance??

Response from Injen: " The most common way for water to enter the engine is for the filter to be entirely submerged. The length the water would then have to travel, significantly reduces the possibility of harm being done. You will need to drive through water levels up to the middle of your front bumper to get the filter under water. If you do encounter water levels that high, then I suggest you do not drive through it. With our cold air intake system, driving through rainstorms will not effect its performance.

Re: It's raining and I have CAI

I am not worry about hydrolocking the car anymore with the CAI

What I will do is get my friend to build me a mesh guard around the front & bottom of the CAI to keep the stone & bugs out of the filter

Still waiting for my 6000k HID bulbs so that I can do the installation at the same time.
