paid 150 dollars to ruin my exhaust HELP!

Ok so I read this thread and he found a nice way to make the stock exhaust a little louder for pretty affordable. https://g35driver.com/forums/intake-...r-removed.html He took off the middle resonator and put staight piping there. So I went to midas asked them to do this. I printed out that thread showed them they said no problem. I come back its done there like 150 bucks So i was already mad like wtf this guy got it done for 50 im being charged 150. Ok whatever I pay. So now first off big difference doesnt sound as loud same deep tone just not noticeable on idle.

Second when i take off or press gas fairly hard it makes a metal on metal sound like something is rattling down there but everything is tight. Another thing is the piece they took out is a quarter of the size of the piece that guy took out of his car. So I am wondering what they did and where do i go from here.

Pics of what came out

um, so you paid $150 for them to remove the reso and install a pipe? is the pipe even mandrel bent?? doubt it since it's midas.

dood, i paid less than that for a true, mandrel bent pipe AND magnaflow resonator, installed.

the rattle sounds like it might be rasp?

you should have gotten a quote BEFORE having them touch your car. you got ripped off.

The 03 and 04 are the one that has the 30lbs resonator and 05 and newer have a smaller one, about 1/2 or less in size. I say go get a coupe mid pipe. I think resonator removed on 03 and 04 sounds like a civic with a coffee can muffler, from my experience. Way too loud. Not too sure about 05 and newer though. Good luck.

heh - the other guy had an 03-04, and you have an 05+. you really should have researched rather than just printing a thread and walking into midas.

Midas won't refund you, its not like they did a repair and did it wrong. go to another muffler shop and ask them to put it back on. It should cost you no more than $50.
